Continuing the celebrations marking the centenary of Frantz Fanon’s birth, this cycle proposes a reflection on his multiple legacies, from the anti-racist struggle to decolonization movements, as well as his work as a psychiatrist — intimately intertwined with the other two dimensions. Already in his first book, Black Skin, White Masks (1952), cinema occupies a marginal yet decisive place with regard to questions of representation, and would later assume a central role in the alternative therapies Fanon introduced at the Blida-Joinville Psychiatric Hospital in Algeria, where he served as Head of Department between 1953 and 1956.
